Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about the NDIS, our services, eligibility, and how to get started.

To be eligible for the NDIS, you must be under 65 years of age, be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities. Contact the NDIS or a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to begin an access request.
Simply contact us by phone or through our online form. Once we receive your enquiry we will arrange a free consultation to discuss your NDIS plan, your goals, and the services that best suit you. Your Support Coordinator can also contact us on your behalf.
We accept plan-managed and self-managed NDIS funding. If your plan is agency-managed (NDIA-managed), please contact us to discuss your options. We do not currently accept NDIA-managed funding directly.
We take matching seriously. We consider your goals, personality, language preferences, and the specific skills required for your support needs. You will always meet your support worker before services begin, and you can request a different worker at any time.
You can adjust your support schedule at any time with reasonable notice (usually 48 hours for regular changes). We understand that life is flexible and we work with you to accommodate changes wherever possible.
Yes. If you are applying for the NDIS for the first time, we can help you understand the access process and refer you to the right contacts. Once your plan is approved, we can begin onboarding you as a client quickly.
We currently provide services across Greater Sydney and surrounding NSW regions including Western Sydney, South-West Sydney, and the Hills District. Contact us to confirm service availability in your specific suburb.
We welcome all feedback. You can contact us directly at lydndis@sharktech.com.au, call our office, or use the contact form on our website. You also have the right to contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission if you are unhappy with our services.
Yes. All LYD NDIS support workers hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (where applicable), and first aid certification. We do not engage workers without up-to-date clearances.
Support Coordination helps you understand and use your NDIS plan to connect with services. Specialist Support Coordination is for participants with more complex needs and is delivered by an allied health professional or someone with specialised expertise. Both can be funded under your Capacity Building budget.
